PCX Railroad History

It all started back when to the south Penn was going to scrap SW1 #3 back in the 1930's or 40's chris knows.  we bought the line from Salisbury Md, to Pocaomo City Md. in 1950.  Over the years the PCX got used engines like to ex Bn, nee Gn GP20s that are still on the roster today.  During the Break up of Conrail in 1999 PCX bought the line from Wilmington De. to Salisbury Md.  A year later the PCX bought a few Ex SP GP40x's and SD40T-2's off of Up.  We also picked up two Ex GN SD9's that were rebuilt in to SD27's that r used for yard service with my to yard slugs.  Just recently the PCX bought out the Bay Coast line that interchanged with us in Pocaomo City.  This extended our line down to cape Charles Va.

Today most of the traffic in grain going to La for export, Coke and scrap metal to the steel mill and finish products coming out, and a roadrailer train every Monday, Wednesday and Friday of every week.
